Re: Altec 250SU Console Info Wanted
I was thinking way back in the late 80"s when Digital JUKEBOX came about with it's software and hardware systems The quality was 16 bit 44 KHZ. this company still exist today . They provide softwares for radio stations with RIFF and WAV files and others which are uncompressed.
At one time to many MP3 where played on radio but now evry one is adopting WAV.
16 bit 44 KHZ . Sony has got even better with WAVE64 that can record and playback
at 24 BIT 192 KHZ 5.1 surround.
So you see FM radio is still alive and well . I pod classic with HDD 16 bit 44 KHZ is good
and will sound great on Altecs.
We've reached full circle now from analogue to digital. The Audio Engineer is a Psychologist
and an artist painter with his ears not number panting .
Pro tools is nice you can see the curves of music on a graph eaven program fadeouts with your mouse. But you must use your ears not your eyes other wise it's just number paintings.
Sound is all about hearing.
